Poppop [aka Donald Wonsettler, M.D.] was a US Army Major & Physician in Grove City, PA for 30+ years.. He was also a hobbyist photographer, constantly tinkering with & trying all sorts of cameras, films & formats. Most of his images were seen once or twice [on a projector] or were processed, rolled in a ball & put in a shoebox in the basement.
While helping tidy my grandparent's basement, I discovered a trove of slide reels, chromes & negatives [most badly damaged from water, heat/cold & by being rolled in a ball for 20+ years]; I started a long process of trying to restore the images. Once I started scanning, the results of my grandfather's often-joked-about hobby were so incredible, I was inspired to keep working through the web of damaged negatives. This is an ongoing project.
